Canonical Pages: The Ultimate Portal to the World of Fandom, presented by VPs of Engineering Adam Goldband and Daniel Grunwell, is your first look at an exciting new idea we've only just begun to experiment with. What are canonical pages and what are our ambitions for them, you might ask? Great question—building off our work on FanCentral last year to build recommendation destinations that don't rely on having to cram more stuff onto a wiki page, canonical pages will serve as a guidepost for casual fans, leading them into an even more immersive Fandom experience by directing them toward all relevant content related to a given topic. They can feature updates on the last wiki edits, news, discussions, and more, as well as recommendations for related fandoms that users may find intriguing. The pages prioritize genres, franchises, shows/games/movies, characters, and the actors who portrayed them to give users a place to find anything they may be looking for about that topic across all of Fandom's brands to enrich their experience.
You'll be the first community members to take a look at where canonical pages could go, and in-person attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback with a breakout session right after the presentation.
