Derek is a Product Designer on the UX Team at Wikia. He enjoys tackling key user pain points and working to create a better user experience for both contributions and visitors on Wikia. In addition to focusing on UX improvements he also spends a lot of time working on new features to help provide users the ability to share their knowledge in new and innovative ways.
History
Before joining Wikia, Derek was the Lead UX Designer for SkilledUp where helped lead the redesign and launch of their new product as well as establish and evolve their new brand. Prior to that, he contracted with various Bay Area companies focusing on web design and branding.
Community Connect Involvement
Derek is working with members of the UX team to facilitate 1-on-1 interviews with members of the community and provide a first glance at upcoming features, as well as gather value feedback and insight from the members on existing products and features.
