Emptylord (sometimes '3mptylord' or 'The Empty Lord') is an administrator on the League of Legends Wiki. He previously worked as a Wiki Manager in the Gaming vertical, but was made redundant during the 2020 Pandemic.
He has regrets that he didn't have better documentation and naming standards when he first began editing, although enjoys template creation enough that starting from scratch is always a welcomed option.
Likes to think he has a good grasp on user-experience, although his ability to implement his vision is limited by the platform and loathes that the range of in-use screen resolutions has been on the climb, after a previous trend of plummeting. Likes to play Devil's Advocate as a means of problem solving - i.e. applying QA background/lateral-thinking skills to try and break my own ideas. I have made a concerted effort to avoid doing this in conversation with others unless I've explicitly forewarned them, since I've come to understand it reads as abrasive. Feels like he's still "in touch" with the people on the ground and will call-out ideas that have evolved beyond the scope.
Communities you may recognise me from:
- RuneScape (pre-Old School era; once-admin of the retired Suggestion Guild) or OSRS (lockdown resurgence)
- League of Legends (Wiki admin; and EUW player)
- ARK: Survival Evolved (retired Gamepedia administrator; volunteer editor for the ARK Additions mod; and community administrator for Prodigy Gaming Canada player community)
- Warframe (Reddit/forums)
- The ~100 communities I managed during my time as a Wiki Manager, including: Sonic, GTA and The Isle.
Failed to follow pre-flight preparation instructions and—after a quiet lament on the bench outside the airport—wasn't able to attend Community Connect 2022 in-person.
