Erica joined Fandom in the fall of 2021 with the goal of enhancing the fan experience. Collaborating across teams with laser focus on opportunities to introduce fans to products and features that are, if not life changing, at least pretty freaking cool. Previously, she worked on video games and as a radio DJ. You may know her from such titles as Dungeon Overlord, Gold Fish Casino, or as Erica Rae, the host of the #1 rated, weeknight 80s music show in the Dubuque, Iowa metro area.
Nerd History[]
Erica's nerdom was a product of her childhood. Living in rural Iowa meant entertainment was limited to the outdoors or endlessly viewing the original Star Wars series on VHS, imagining Hobbits as some sort of humanoid-badgers based on Tolkien's description, staying up late to catch an episode of Star Trek Voyager, playing the same 3 games on the previous gen console, becoming weirdly obsessed with The Titanic, or pretending to despise Power Rangers during her younger brother's daily commandeering of the only television.
She spent many years embracing her nerdiness by diving head first into MMOs, having an Avengers themed wedding, and naming her first born after Link.
These days, Erica is more well versed in Numberblocks, Disney Jr., and PBS Kids, but tries to balance it out by keeping up with Better Call Saul, The Boys, and the latest in the MCU.
Responsibilities at Fandom[]
Erica is a Product Marketing Manager who focuses on getting the right message to the right people at the right time. Fandom has such a vast offering, and the potential to be a top destination, it's up to her to improve how we talk to Fans about the power that lies beneath the surface.
