Héctor Donís is one of the Community Managers and part of the Community Trust, Safety, and Product Support team at Fandom.

In 2019 and 2020, he was part of the former Gaming Team, working for the Fandom and Gamepedia gaming communities in order to help them to be stronger and bigger. More recently, from 2021 to 2023 he was part of the Community Experience team.

Alongside the English communities, he has also been one of the main points of contact for the Spanish communities, just as he's been working for during the previous years (from 2011 to 2019).

History

Héctor Donís has always been a huge video games fan. In 2007, he was one of the founders of Grand Theft Encyclopedia, the biggest fan community about Grand Theft Auto in the Spanish language, that started as a parallel project of a previous fan-based website. In 2011, he became one of the most featured editors from this language community, and at the end of the year was hired by Fandom as part of the Community Development Team for the communities in Spanish.

For seven years, he's been working with several projects and duties for Fandom, but always trying to push and promote all the main communities from all the verticals in Spanish. In 2019 he started as Community Manager inside the Gaming Team, taking care of the gaming communities in Spanish. Some time later, he also started to work for the English communities, being one of the people who could help you to grow if you participated on a Gamepedia and/or a Fandom Gaming wiki.

From 2021 to 2023, he was part of the Community Experience team. His main focus were the emerging wikis and any other special projects, with a significant emphasis on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion area.

Since 2024, he's currently working as Senior Community Manager for Product Support, focused on building a connection between our community of users and our Product Teams - and more specifically the Engagement Team - as they build and improve features on the platform.

He has been attending the last Community Connect editions. More concretely, in 2020, 2021 - March and August editions -, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Trivia

• One of his other main passions is Music. He's been a musician since he was a child. He plays the trombone, the euphonium, the classical and electric guitar, and also sings, has some piano basics and is able to play some other instruments.
• Although he's a video games lover, you can also share his passion for movies with him. He's seen more than 1,700 movies and has a DVD/Blu-Ray collection of nearly 350 titles.

• He was born in November. For the Fandom Day 2021, the staff made a contest creating the best wiki based on their month of birth. He participated on the November Wiki and... his team won!
